Our Team

Peter Oluotch is the Chief Officer and one of the co-founders of Humber Community Advice Services (H-CAS). A lawyer by profession, he began his career as an advocate in Kenya before moving to the UK in 2002 to pursue postgraduate studies in International Law and Business Management.
Professional Expertise: Peter combines strong expertise in immigration and charity law with senior management experience, fostering a culture of professionalism and integrity within the voluntary sector.
Community Leadership: He has a long history of community involvement in both Kenya and the UK, which has led to his recognition, including appointment as a Deputy Lieutenant in the East Riding Lieutenancy.
Advocacy for the Disadvantaged: Driven by a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable people, he has consistently championed equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout his career.
Recognition: In 2020, Peter received the High Sheriff's Award for his "outstanding contribution" and support for vulnerable residents.
Volunteer Trustee for Two Ridings Community Foundation (TRCF): He currently serves as a volunteer trustee for TRCF, a charity that raises and distributes money to various community projects and good causes across Yorkshire.
Previously a member of the Humberside Criminal Justice Board’s Diversity Panel: For about 12 years, he was part of this scrutiny panel which acted as a "critical friend", reviewing the equality and diversity policies and practices of agencies, including the Police, Courts and Tribunals, Prisons, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Witness Service and Probation Services.
Peter also served on the ethics committee and other scrutiny panels looking into how Humberside Police handled hate crimes and stop & search incidents.
He was formerly a Volunteer Trustee for 'Hull City of Sanctuary’, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which focuses on welcoming and supporting asylum seekers and refugees in the region. He also chaired the 'Asylum Seekers and Refugees Multi Agency Forum’ for over two years to September 2020. The Forum coordinates the efforts of various organisations, including charities, local council, DWP, police, Migration Yorkshire, and asylum housing providers, to collectively address the diverse needs of asylum seekers and refugees in Hull. The Forum gets attendance by Home Office staff every now and then.
Peter is inspired by the likes of the revered leader Nelson Mandela, who believed that to deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.

Outside of work, he works as a freelance translator and provides IELTS tutoring. He loves reading, travelling, art and music.

"I am honoured to join the team at Humber Community Advice Services as a Well-being Support Worker. I am passionate about helping others and strengthening our community."
Noor's passion for supporting others is rooted in her own experience of arriving in the UK, when H-CAS played a vital role in helping her settle. That experience inspired her to one day offer the same support to others - something she is now proud to be doing.
She is currently studying Business Management and Marketing and enjoys swimming and playing basketball in her free time.
A fun fact about Noor: She insists she can make any song sound worse simply by singing it.

I feel passionate about working for Humber Community Advice Services, as it is a charity organisation that supports people from diverse minority backgrounds. As someone who shares a similar background, I am deeply committed to empowering individuals and helping to create opportunities for those who are often underrepresented.
Originally from Sudan, I grew up in London before moving to Hull in 2008. I have been working with Humber Community Advice Services for a year now as an Administration Officer, while also working closely with clients. I also volunteer with the Hull Refugee Council.
I hold both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hull. Outside of work, I enjoy attending cultural and community gatherings, journaling, listening to podcasts or music, and socialising with friends.
