Why H-CAS?
Our staff not only have expertise that is widely recognised in our region but also have lived experience; and we represent the needs of global majorities on different fora across the city and beyond.
We are pro-active members of the ‘Asylum Seeker and Refugees Multi Agencies Forum’, which brings together the British Red Cross and various charities; as well as the Job Centre, Migration Yorkshire, Humberside Police, Hull City Council, City Health Care Partnership, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, etc. Our Chief Officer previously chaired the Forum for 2 years. The Forum addresses housing, educational, safety and health issues among other needs of Hull’s asylum seekers and refugees.
H-CAS has a holistic approach to problem solving. At H-CAS, we consider the clients‘ physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing (where applicable), rather than just the problem at hand. The holistic approach is client-centred and takes into account the “whole person” and their individual preferences.
